Keepin’ up
Hello folks! It’s been probably half a year since I made my previous post. I thought it would be easy to keep up with a blog, but it really does take a lot of dedication and the ability to provide readers with fresh content! I can sit here and list out a million excuses as to why I’ve neglected this blog for months and months… but my only real excuse is my life away from the computer. Back in February, I became engaged to my fiancĂ© while on a weekend excursion to NYC. Since then, I’ve been focused on wedding plans and also helping my brother and his fiancĂ©e plan their wedding, which is the end of this year!
But I digress, I’ve actually done some artsy stuff that I would love to share with you all – invitation designs, jewelry, and some crafty stuff I made out of fabric and paper. I’ll post again once I find my camera and take pics of the stuff I made
.
Create Something New from Something Old
Over the weekend, as I was pulling my laundry out of the washer, I managed to rip a giant irreparable hole into the crotch of one of my favorite old work pants
. Needless to say, I was mad and disappointed.

I didn’t want to waste the nice plaid material from my pants by just throwing it away, so I decided to use the fabric to sew up a clutch purse.

For the most part, I used a sewing machine to sew it up. I cut off the belt loops from my pants, and used them to make the loops for the ring thats attached to the handle. I also used a green zipper to add some contrasting color to the brown and pink. Tucked away in a thread box, I found a handful of random buttons that fell off coats and clothes throughout the years… so I decided to use a couple of those to add a little charm to the purse.

Overall, I think the purse turned out great! The dimensions of it is about 7″x5″. Wonder what else could be made from a pair of ripped pants…

Design work
I’m working on getting up some of my design work on here, slowly but surely! So far, I’ve posted some designs in the Web and Logo sections. Keep checking back for more!

WordPress Newbie
I have finally joined the wordpress bandwagon! I have been in the process of redesigning my portfolio site, which is taking me forever to complete. You know what they say, it’s always harder designing for yourself! This blog is suppose to be a temporary place to put up my work… but we’ll see how it goes. More to come soon… I promise!
